Synopsis

In July 1982, the Israeli army besieged Beirut. Four days earlier, Jocelyne Saab watched her house burn, and 150 years of history go up in flames. She then asked herself: when did all of this begin? Each place would become a story, and each name a memory.

U julu 1982. godine, izraelska vojska je opkolila Bejrut. Četiri dana prije, Jocelyne Saab gledala je svoju kuću u plamenu, i 150 godina historije kako nestaje u vatri. Pitala se tada, kako je ovo sve počelo? Svako mjesto će postati priča, a svako ime jedno sjećanje.

Directors Biography

Jocelyne Saab (1948–2019) was a Lebanese journalist and film director. She is recognized as one of the pioneers of Lebanese cinema. A reporter, photographer, scriptwriter, producer, director, artist and founder of the Cultural Resistance International Film Festival of Lebanon, Saab focused on the deprived and disadvantaged – from displaced peoples to exiled fighters, cities at war and a Fourth World without a voice. Her work is grounded in historic violence, and in an awareness of the actions and images required to document, reflect on and counteract it.

Jocelyne Saab (1948–2019) bila je libanonska novinarka i režiserka. Smatra se pionirkom libanonskog filma. Polazište njenog rada bilo je historijsko nasilje, i u njemu svijest o djelima i prizorima koji se moraju dokumentovati, diskutovati, i kojima se mora pružiti otpor.
